Excellent option for a family with children

Breakfast was surprisingly good better than expected and the staff here were efficient and really kind never hesitated to help book transportation , made things easier for us.

It wasn't cheap but still acceptable for what we got.

It was a pretty new hotel on the interior, everything very clean and nice. Very nice complimentary fruit and drinks on the bedroom.

They are not very considerate regarding the guests, at 7am on a Sunday they were drilling and doing construction works. Called reception to ask them to stop and they stopped the drilling and started the hammering....

This hotel was by far the best hotel I stayed at during my time in Vietnam. The location is great, close to Hoan Kiem Lake, the Old Quarter and the Cathedral. Still the room I has was very quiet as it faced the back of the hotel. My room was wonderful with a large window and soft bed. I liked that they had a proper duvet for the bed and not just a sheet. Fresh fruit and softs drinks free of charge was a great feature. The room was nice and clean, spotless in fact. The hotel is quite new and not run down as many other hotels in Vietnam. Loved that I had a bathtub in my room. The bathroom is stylish as the rest of the room. There's a glasswall between the bedroom and the bathroom, and a blind to cover up this wall if one wants more privacy. Overall the room was great with the comfortable bed, big flatscreen TV and nice bathroom. The staff was excellent, well trained and offered great service. Any requests was handeled professional and quick. Everyone was nice and friendly and eager to help. Breakfast was a good buffet, with omelets, fried eggs and pho made one spot my a cook. I liked that they offered dark bread, to often you only have white bread as an option. Fresh fruit and some pastries. They served you coffe/tea at the table. I originally planned to stay at the Sofitel Metropole for my last night in Hanoi, but after reading the reviews I decided to try Golden Silk. I'm very pleased with my decision as I think I got the same good service for a much better price! I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Hanoi!

I booked my room through Booked.net, and it said that the room came with a view. The picture also shows the reflection of a window in the mirror. However, when I checked in I was gived a room with no windows. Apparantly the Deluxe rooms have no windows. This was misleading as it's important to me to get some sunlight into my room. When I told the reception and showed them the page on Booked.net they upgraded me to a Luxury room with a big window free of charge. This was a excellent way to handle the situation and it left me very pleased with the hotels service! Still, I checked Booked.net before writing this review, and they haven't changed the information regarding the Deluxe rooms. So be aware that if you book this room, it's without a window.

The staff were cute, and we loved the spacious room, especially with our dogs. The location was perfect, with access to local eateries and shops. The highlight was definitely the delicious breakfast with options that catered well to all. It was a fantastic base for exploring.

My kids wished for a few more family-friendly amenities.

We were given a room without view (deluxe twin) instead of a room specified by Booked.net as with view. There was a confusion, but as we insisted that the room we booked was with view, we were given a deluxe room with a small window. That was fine then. Other than that, the hotel was pretty new and it was beautifully decorated.

The bathroom was inconvenient. Glasses everywhere, and we need to roll down and up the screen whenever we need privacy. Fruits were given once on the 1st day though we stayed for 3 nights. Food at the hotel restaurant was poor. The hotel needs a new F&B manager definitely.

The location was good. The rooms were clean and nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they were "walking the extra mile" There were a mini-bar in room with complimentary water and soft-drink.

A minor thing was the shower pressure were too low.

The Luxury Double or Twin Room was super comfy with a nice seating area. It also had a safe, mini fridge, and tv. The staff was really amazing, helping us book local transport. Breakfast was delicious! The hotel's right by the lake and close to all the must-see spots in the Old Quarter.

Very good foods with nice selections Enthusiam, friendly reception, restaurant and bell staffs Even with some dislikes below, i will still choose this hotel again if i come to Hanoi or recommend it to my friends...

1. I required back side room but when I check-in, I got front street room (308) so it is quite noisy though it is nice. But I still prefer quiet room and so lazy to tell them to change it for me. 2. Non smoking room has quite strong smoke smell (room 308) 3. I ordered Halida beer and it is expired 10 days before that. Anyway i got a change after i discovered the beer is sour and stink. 4. Your cleaning staff cleaned the balcony and i saw she finished while the water in the cleaning pot is still very black !!! 5. Your room service staff walked into my room and she WORE her normal shoes (open sandal), it feels a bit bad to see she wore shoes in my room and i am barefoot or wearing hotel's slipper 6. Our colleage flooded the bathroom because you DO NOT have proper drain system for the area around the bathtub, water around the tub run down directly to the bathroom floor. There are many comments already on Trip Adviser, Booked.net etc about this problem..... Check it out, i think it is not difficult to repair this. 7.The room for my colleage (401) has air conditioning problem: Not cool enough, the air is stuffy in this room without proper air. The control dock of air conditioning (attached to the wall) can fall out easily (please check)

In an ideal location to explore the streets of the old quarter on foot. I booked a luxury suite as I was wanted to come home to size and comfort.I wasn't disappointed. The facilities were of a high standard, the buffet breakfast outstanding, and the staff ever so friendly and helpful, leaving none of my numerous questions unanswered. I'd give my stay a ten out of ten.

Perfect location near lake, good restaurants, comfortable room, helpful staff, great breakfast, wellness area.

This is a new hotel, best location, best price. Surely, I would recommend this to anyone who plan to visit Old Town Hanoi
